Direct M2 route
From Moscova M2, take the green line directly to Porta Genova FS in five stops. From the station, the current walking route to Darsena is about 650 metres / 9 minutes via Via Vigevano.
Walk all the way
The current route from Via Solferino 56 is about 3.6 km / 50 minutes. It is a pleasant city walk if you include Colonne di San Lorenzo and Corso di Porta Ticinese.
What to see and do
- The Darsena: the basin where Naviglio Grande and Naviglio Pavese meet, once Milan's inland commercial harbour.
- Naviglio Grande: the livelier canal bank, lined with restaurants, bars, galleries and small shops.
- Naviglio Pavese: a quieter alternative for a longer walk south.
- Mercato Comunale: the covered city market at Piazza XXIV Maggio, useful for food and drinks beside the water.
- Nearby churches: Basilica di Sant'Eustorgio and San Lorenzo alle Colonne add history to an evening normally associated with nightlife.

YesMilano lists the Darsena as free to enter. Official public transport: M2 Porta Genova, trams 3, 9 and 10, bus 71. Friday and Saturday evenings can be very busy; go earlier for easier photos and a quieter walk.
