Milan Civic Aquarium: a journey from the Adda to the sea
At the edge of Parco Sempione, close to the Arena Civica, Milan Civic Aquarium brings together aquatic science and an unusual 1906 Art Nouveau building. Its compact route follows water from Alpine streams to the river mouth and the Mediterranean.

A pavilion from 1906
Sebastiano Locati designed the building for Milan's 1906 International Exhibition. Donated to the City after the event, it remains one of the Exhibition's surviving structures in Parco Sempione. Its façade and decoration make the building part of the visit, while the interior route was renewed for its centenary in 2006.
Following the water
The circular exhibition route connects Italian freshwater and marine environments. Official museum information describes 10 freshwater tanks and 12 saltwater tanks, including stream, lake, river, estuary, sandy-bottom, rocky-shore and pelagic settings. The garden continues the story with pools inspired by Po Valley ecosystems.

Accessibility
- The entrance can be reached by steps or two side ramps.
- The main circular route is approximately 200 metres long, barrier-free and includes some seating.
- A lift connects the museum levels; the terrace is reached only by stairs.
- The garden route includes a ramp and a short gravel section; some outdoor paving is uneven.
- A wheelchair and accessible toilets are listed. Contact the museum in advance for individual needs.

Acquario Civico: un viaggio dall'Adda al Mediterraneo
Ai margini di Parco Sempione, vicino all'Arena Civica, l'Acquario Civico unisce divulgazione scientifica e un insolito edificio Liberty del 1906. Il percorso raccolto segue l'acqua dai torrenti alpini alla foce e poi al Mediterraneo.
Un padiglione del 1906
Sebastiano Locati progettò l'edificio per l'Esposizione Internazionale di Milano del 1906. Donato al Comune dopo la manifestazione, è una delle testimonianze rimaste nel Parco Sempione. La facciata e le decorazioni rendono l'edificio parte della visita; il percorso interno fu rinnovato per il centenario nel 2006.
Il percorso dell'acqua
Il percorso circolare collega ambienti italiani d'acqua dolce e marina. Le informazioni ufficiali descrivono 10 vasche d'acqua dolce e 12 vasche d'acqua salata, con torrente, lago, fiume, foce, fondali sabbiosi, litorali rocciosi e ambiente pelagico. Nel giardino il racconto continua con bacini ispirati agli ecosistemi della Pianura Padana.
